Dorkina Myrick, M.D., Ph.D., is an experienced licensed physician, scientific researcher, and biomedical research administrator.  As a Medical Officer at the National Institutes of Health, she provided program leadership for national and international academic medical centers and biomedical research institutions.  Dr. Myrick represented the Department of Health and Human Services as a Brookings Institution Legislative Fellow in the United States Senate and the United States Senate House of Representatives.  During her tenure, she advised congressional staff and managed legislative issues in health care and biomedical research.

Dr. Myrick earned her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Brown University School of Medicine.  She then obtained a position as a Clinical Fellow and Resident Physician in Anatomic Pathology at the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute.  After completing residency, Dr. Myrick worked for several years in biomedical research program administration at the National Institutes of Health.  She holds a Certificate in Public Leadership from the Brookings Institution.
